Float Therapy
Floating in 10 inches of skin-temperature water, mixed with over 1000 pounds of salt, allows your senses to be released from all distractions. The tank creates an environment where you can achieve pure sensory relaxation. The weightlessness, combined with the benefits of Epsom salts, also creates an ideal environment for injury recovery and provides relief from muscular pain and tension.
During your session you will float naked, because swimsuits can contain chlorine, dyes, and can be uncomfortable. Don’t worry — it’s a private float suite!

How Your First Session Might Go

Step In
Sit down into the float solution and close the lid. You can leave the lid open or cracked if you would like more time to get comfortable with the idea of floating. You are ready to then lay back and experience every joint in your body releasing from gravity. When ready, close your lid (if you have not done so) and turn off your light in the pod. You can always leave your light on if you would like.

Preparing For Your Float Session
Before booking, please see precautions in the Liability Waiver for Float Therapy. We make several recommendations to ensure your float is the best it can be every time!
Tips For Preparing For Your Float Session
Arrive early for your session.
Allow yourself plenty of time to get here – it’s much harder to relax if you’ve been rushing. If you are late, your float session may need to be cut short to ensure the following appointments can start on time. We recommend arriving 25 minutes early for your first session for orientation and 15 minutes early for all subsequent appointments.
Be mindful of nicks and cuts.
Avoid shaving, tanning, or waxing 24 hours before your Float Session — or anything else that would increase your skin’s sensitivity. (We provide Vaseline in the Float Suite to protect any papercuts from the salt.)
Book for an appropriate time to not have dyes and sprays come off.
Please book your session for at least ten (10) days after spray tanning. Check to confirm spray tan is not coming off onto your towel before your Float.
Hair color needs to be “set” before coming in to float. This means that your shower water is running completely clear, and the color is not bleeding onto towels. Please reschedule if it is not.
Avoid caffeine before your Float Session.
We encourage clients to avoid caffeine for at least four hours before floating for the most relaxing experience. Make sure you are hydrated with plenty of water both before and after your float session.
Be mindful of personal hygiene.
So we can maintain our high level of hygiene, please reschedule your float session if you are experiencing a heavy menstruation cycle, have significant open cuts, or have had any gastro issues.
Don’t float on an empty stomach.
Because floating is so relaxing, you may be distracted by stomach grumbles if you come on an empty stomach. We recommend eating something small before your Float, but allowing at least 30 minutes to digest before your appointment.
Allow plenty of time to enjoy the full benefits of the Float Session.
We recommend allowing 1.5 hours for a 60-minute float session as we want you to take the time to relax before heading back out into the hustle and bustle.
Silence your electronic devices.
Silence your phone before entering The Salt Center (no vibration and no ring). This is your time to escape all of that, so leave it off as long as you can. It is also very distracting for other clients who are here to relax. DO NOT TAKE CALLS WHILE YOU ARE IN THE FLOAT ROOMS, LOUNGE, OR RECEPTION AREAS.
Refrain from introducing strong odors.
Please refrain from strong perfumes and smoking shortly prior to arriving at The Salt Center. The smell is carried into The Float Room with you, which can be unpleasant for other customers.
Bring a change of clothes.
Remember to bring a bag with a change of clothes, hairbrush, makeup, lotion, and other personal items to use after your Foat (example: journal to write in while relaxing in our Zen Lounge). We provide a hairdryer, earplugs, towels, robes, shampoo, body wash, and conditioner. There is no need to bring a swimsuit — we encourage you to float naked since the Float Suite is entirely private.
Be considerate of shower times.
Be aware of how long you take to shower after your Float. Please consider that we may have other clients waiting and we need to allow sufficient time for filtering and cleaning. If you feel you need more than five (5) minutes to shower, please advise us when you arrive and we can shorten your float time accordingly.
