Preparing For Your Salt Room Session
We have several recommendations to ensure your Salt Room (Halotherapy) Session is the best it can be, every time! Click the button below to read tips for preparing. Make sure you are hydrated with plenty of water before & after your salt session. See Precautions in the Liability Waiver.
Tips For Preparing For Your Salt Room Session
Silence your devices.
Please remember to enter The Salt Center quietly and make sure to silence your phones and Smart Watches (NO RING & NO VIBRATION). The Salt Room is for Quiet Sessions, and we ask guests to speak softly while enjoying their Session (unless it is a special workshop, yoga class, or rented out for a private event).
Arrive 10 minutes early.
Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled Salt Room Session start time to ensure adequate time to get checked in, use the restroom, and grab a drink before closing the door and beginning the Halo-generator. Once the door is closed, we try to keep it closed, so it does not disturb other guests and, most importantly, keep all of the salt inside the Salt Room (since salt is highly corrosive to metal and HVAC systems). The Halo-generator will run for 45 minutes. After it has stopped, we will open the door shortly after the vents have had a few minutes to remove the salty air out of the room so that it doesn’t flow into the hallway and other areas not fitted for salt air.
Sessions with young children.
When booking a Salt Room Session for a young child, please do not book unless your child can remain calm and quiet during the Session to not disturb the other services in progress. If you would like to book a Session for a young child and are concerned about noise, please call us to schedule during a non-busy time of day so that we can accommodate you.
Number of people in the Salt Room.
A Salt Room Session seats up to 4 people comfortably with maintaining plenty of distance. This is NOT a private session, and you may have others in the same room with you.
Wear comfortable clothing.
Dress comfortably in clothing that you can relax in and won’t worry about getting a little light dusting of salt on (or bring a bag with a change of clothes). We provide spa shoes or shoe covers to wear in the Salt Room. You may also choose to wear socks if you prefer.
Limited personal items.
Limit the number of personal items you bring in. Bring a bag to keep your personal items from getting salted or to hang up in the coat/shoe room. If you do get salt on your items, they can be brushed and wiped off.
Bring a book, headphones, or magazines to enjoy while during your Session. Or you may decide to nap with one of our cozy blankets.
Some guests bring their yoga mats to practice meditation or a yoga flow during their Salt Room Session. You may choose to do some light breathing or stretching before lounging in the recliner.
Liquids in the Salt Room.
We allow you to bring in water or an herbal tea into your Session, with the caution not to spill any liquids onto the floor or furniture (especially the salt walls).
Refrain from introducing strong smells to the Salt Room.
Please refrain from strong perfumes and smoking shortly before arriving at The Salt Center. The smell is carried into the salt room with you and it can be unpleasant for other customers.
